美国商用反应堆首次安装西屋电气生产的耐事故核燃料

 

  据英国《国际核工程》杂志网站2019年9月10日报道,美国西屋电气公司和爱克斯龙电力公司首次在美国拜伦核电站2号机组安装完成了西屋电气公司的EnCore耐事故核燃料。
 
       此次先进核燃料的安装是在核电站计划内的春季换料停堆期间进行的。这标志着商用反应堆首次安装EnCore核燃料棒组件。两个铅测试组件包含增强抗氧化和耐腐蚀能力的镀铬锆合金包壳、改进燃料经济性的高密度ADOPT™芯块,以及硅化铀芯块。西屋电气表示,EnCore核燃料可以显著提高核燃料的安全性,并可以提高核电站运行的经济性。
